Research and articles

Here you will find all the articles I have written about Jeremy Wade Delle.

Originally published on my Waterfall7290 Tumblr blog, these articles were thoroughly researched for and written with the goal of understanding Jeremy, his loved ones and the events from a multitude of perspectives. Psychology, empathy and logic are key components of these.

The articles also contain new info and attempt to confirm or debunk some older one.

Jeremy and Cults that Kill (1988 book) - parts 1 & 2

[4/06/24 & 14/07/24]

What was the Satanic Panic? Why was Jeremy interested in reading Cults that Kill and why did the school take it so seriously? What was the point of the deer leg found in Jeremy's locker? And last but not least: was Jeremy involved with Satanism in any way?

I tried to answer to all of these questions in two articles, which for convenience were here joined into one.

Understanding Jeremy: an empathetic and psychological analysis of Jeremy Wade Delle - and the people who loved him

[19/03/24]

I never met Jeremy nor am I a psychologist, yet I have studied psychology and I have learned in great detail all that was made public (and not) about Jeremy. This is basically a sum-up of everything I have learned about his psychology and about his loved ones during my almost four years of researching and writing No more “Later Days”; other than the things I have learned in my own personal experiences with both adults and teenagers.

Here is the result of my extensive research on the Jeremy matter. Hopefully it will help people to look at the events from different perspectives and produce a less judgemental and black-or-white opinion of both Jeremy and his loved ones.

Was Jeremy Delle bullied?

[8/10/24]

Pearl Jam song Jeremy is about a kid who got bullied so hard that he snapped and decided to kill himself in front of his classmates. The song was inspired by a newspaper article about Jeremy Wade Delle and by another kid Eddie Vedder went to school with. Because of it, people still believe bullying is the reason why Jeremy decided to end his life.

But was Jeremy Delle actually bullied? And if so, why?

4 pieces of info that jeremywadedelle.com got wrong

[31/12/23]

While revising No more "Later Days", I found more discrepancies between my sources. These is the info, found on jeremywadedelle.com, that I will be correcting:

1) Where Jeremy lived in year 1990

2) Jeremy's inpatient/outpatient experience at Timberlawn

3) The length of Jeremy's stay at Timberlawn

4) The number of schools Jeremy went to between late 1989 and early 1991.

Jeremy Delle's alleged "To whoever I decide this is to" suicide letter: is it real or not?

[5/11/23]

A heartbreaking, alleged suicide letter written by Jeremy has been circulating the web for quite some time. After seeing the website Morbidology share it on Tumblr, I decided to investigate into its origins and find out whether this letter is actually real or not.

Was thejeremystory reliable?

[16/10/23]

While revising PART 2 of No more "Later Days", I discovered some discrepancies between the sources I use. I decided to investigate into the matter and found out that The Jeremy Story might have not been as reliable as it was thought to be.

Visual examples of what I mean are included in the article.

Doomed from the start?

[27/06/21]

What therapies were available in year 1990 for helping someone who had Jeremy's issues? Was Timberlawn equipped to effectively deal with more difficult cases? Was Jeremy, because of his mental health issues, doomed from the start?

An evaluation.
